I used soft colours to represent the subtle colours that can be found on Country but also to remind me of the softness in these moments with dad because sometimes the stories can be difficult to hear. Thangkenharenge is the traditional place name for Barrow Creek in the Kaytetye language. In the colonial tongue it is called Barrow Creek. My father was born at neutral Junction station on Country. As Kaytetye people, we are of this place.
