Yellow. Like the desert. Like the flowering acacia trees or the button flowers spread across the red dirt. Like the horizon to horizon sunny skies. Always yellow on the desert.
Yellow is one of four small artworks. These paintings aren’t just random. They were done with intention. They represent new beginnings. The first paintings I completed since the floods, since moving to Aotearoa fell by the wayside, and returning to Katherine. The first paintings completed in my new studio. They represent joy and hope - all the good things that are happening since my ancestors reminded me where I need to be and my purpose.
